Anna Thompson

Anna works to help ensure the New Memphis brand is consistent and that each of our audiences has content catered specifically to them. This includes working with the team to create newsletters, social media content, and articles with our media partners.

A native Memphian, Anna is a graduate of Samford University with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications and minor in Cultural Studies. After graduating, she returned to Memphis to intern for ServiceMaster before joining Contemporary Media, Inc. as a staff writer for Memphis  magazine and Assistant Editor for Inside Memphis Business. Additionally, she was the Editor for Special Publications including the oversight of projects including annual Chamber magazines and the inaugural Laurelwood magazine, a partnership she still continues in a freelance capacity. From there, Anna went to AutoZone as a Communications Specialist for Store Operations assisting with the creating and implementation messages to their 6,000 domestic retail stores. She was also an inaugural Core Team member of the Business Resource Group for AutoZone’s Women’s Initiative, AZ WIN. She is a graduate of the 2017 Embark leadership program and a 2018 graduate of the Dale Carnegie leadership program. She believes that forging a better tomorrow for Memphis begins with each individual and the choices they make today to impact the community.

When she’s not working, Anna is passionate about honoring seniors through Forever Young Senior Veterans, and spending time with her husband, family, and rescue pup, Lilly.
