Two events catering to students and young workers in the Memphis area who want to learn more about the community and connect with peers are scheduled for Friday, June 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., coinciding with the South Main Art Trolley Tour.

MPACT Memphis will host Plug Into Memphis Night at MPACT, 506 S. Main St., while The Leadership Academy will hold The Summer Experience at Memphis College of Art’s Nesin Graduate School, 477 S. Main St.

Plug Into Memphis Night will include complimentary live music, appetizers, and, for those interns and recent college graduates 21 and older, wine and beer. Attendees can learn how they can get involved in events going on in the Memphis community, particularly on South Main Street, as well as meet community leaders and make friends.

Interns at Plug Into Memphis Night will receive an MPACT membership card (good for the entire summer) that may be used to access an assortment of discounts and benefits offered by businesses throughout Memphis. ArtsMemphis and Bravo will be at the event with special discounted memberships as well.

The Leadership Academy will also be hosting an event that is part of their Summer Experience program that will last all summer. The event will also be educating young people about things happening in the Memphis area. Throughout the summer, interns, students and recent college graduates will have opportunities to meet and connect with other people their age as well as local business leaders in Memphis.

The two events are being held during the South Main Historic Art District’s monthly Art Trolley Tour, which takes place the last Friday of every month. Participants can enjoy live music, dining and the interesting shops that the South Main district has to offer.

The two events are open to the public, but The Leadership Academy’s Summer Experience is RSVP only.
