Shawn Meng

Shawn is one of two Bank of America Student Leaders and Summer Interns at New Memphis. He is a U.S. Presidential Scholar and proud graduate of White Station High in Memphis, where he competed on the Varsity Basketball, Quizbowl, Debate, and Science Olympiad Teams. Outside of school, he loves the outdoors and music, earning recognition as an Eagle Scout and first violinist in the Memphis Youth Symphony. He feels fulfilled when combining his various interests into community initiatives, such as building a flood-protection structure for his school and coaching a basketball class for kids in collaboration with the Memphis Grizzlies. However, by far his favorite thing to do is to spend time with his friends, who constantly inspire him to be the best version of himself. He will attend the University of Chicago in the fall to continue his pursuit of positive change by studying Physics and exploring other subjects.
